ABOUT THE COMPETITION
The winning choir will perform one of the Messiah choruses, Since by Man Came Death, on its own, from the Orpheum stage, as part of the performance on December 12th. The choir will have free tickets for the performance and receive recognition in publicity ahead of time.
High School Choirs are to submit recordings of their choir as entry to the Competition, which closes September 30th. The winning choir will be notified by October 30th and will prepare the short chorus (3 pages) to perform during the Sing-Along Messiah concert.
We are encouraging high school choirs in general
to be part of the performance by providing tickets
at $10 each (a savings of over $20 per person) for
groups of ten or more.
Phone 604-921-8012 for group tickets.
Seating is unreserved but can be reserved for a group.
Join us for the 30th Anniversary performance of the Sing-Along Messiah with new Music Director Leslie Dala, the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, the Bach Choir and the wonderfully enthusiastic audience, and sing in the choruses of Handel's most famous work! Arias will be sung by 15 auditioned, emerging professional singers.
Hear the winning high school choir sing one of the choruses. Details of the High School Choir Competition are listed below.
Join us, as well, for the Free Messiah workshop and public rehearsal with Leslie Dala on Tuesday, November 23rd at West Point Grey United Church, 4595 West 8th, 7:30pm.
